Portable tools are used to cut, drill, and finish parts. Using portable tools entails risks that must not be underestimated. Thus, these tools can seriously injure those who use them or are close by. Since these tools are powered by electricity or compressed air, their operators can be placed at risk if they do not pay attention to the task at hand, or are not sufficiently knowledgeable.
This course covers how to choose portable tools and use them safely, how to maintain portable tools in good repair, how to sharpen a drill bit, and the uses of the various types of drill bits.
